Harmony of
the Senses
Last week, Wine Australia and AusHub Vietnam co-hosted "Harmony of the Senses," the first official event to introduce Australian wines from across all states and regions to Vietnamese industry insiders.
It was our honor to receive 70 distinguished guests from wine importers, retailers, HORECA partners, and Australian Government representatives. The gala dinner invited everyone to embark on a journey to discover Australian wines through different senses: sight, smell, sound, taste, and even touch.
A total of 9 phenomenal wines were featured at the event, each with distinct characteristics and outstanding tastes. From buoyant sparkling to elegant whites and vibrant reds, this selection of wines was carefully curated to showcase the time-tested craftsmanship and fearless experimentation of Australian winemakers.
On behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Mr. Ciaran Chestnutt, Deputy Consul-General to HCMC delivered the Opening Remarks.
Mr. Alexandre Sala represented Barossa Australia and The Warehouse Vietnam, the event sponsor. Barossa is regarded as one of the greatest wine regions of Australia.
Mr. Simon Pugh, President of AusCham greeted prominent Australian wine importers. AusCham is committed to advocating for robust business opportunities between the two countries.
Mrs. Jennifer Lucchini hosted the gala dinner as Australian Wine's Industry Representative in Vietnam. With the support from AusHub, this inaugural event will soon be followed by numerous other initiatives to bring Australian wines closer to Vietnamese people.
Ms. Le Hoang Khanh Vi and Ms. Tran Thi Dung Tram are the two newly appointed Australian Wine Specialists. Both renowned sommeliers, one based in HCMC and one in Hanoi, the duo will be actively engaged in the promotion and endorsement of Aussie wines to the public.
Among the guests were highly reputable wine enthusiasts and hospitality experts. Despite being rather new to the Vietnamese market, Australian wines are quickly gaining popularity due to the diversity in styles, which provides excellent options for any setting either hotels or restaurants.
